Accounts Payable Associate - 6-Month Temporary
Location: Vaughan, ON
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Salary: $65,000 – $70,000 per year, commensurate with experience
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Associate to join our team on a 6-month temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable activities, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time, maintaining vendor records, and supporting month-end close activities.
This is a fully on-site position, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify invoices and payment requests for accuracy and completeness.
- Sort, code, and match invoices to appropriate cost centers or projects.
- Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system and ensure timely payment.
- Process and maintain corporate credit card transactions.
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Process EFT/ACH payments and prepare electronic transfers.
- Track expenses and process employee expense reports.
- Prepare and perform cheque runs.
- Post transactions to journals, ledgers, and other accounting records.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and prepare account analyses.
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are accurate and up to date.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files, including creating new vendors and verifying banking information.
- Communicate with vendors and respond to inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Produce monthly reports and support the month-end closing process.
- Provide documentation and assistance during internal and external audits.
- Support front desk and telephone reception duties as required.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar accounting role.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional and customer-service-oriented approach when dealing with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Work Environment
This position is fully on-site and requires the successful candidate to work from the office Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The role is offered as a 6-month temporary position with a salary range of $65,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
