The Role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Commercial Finance Business Partner will establish and lead a centralized Pricing Desk within Finance to improve pricing consistency, manage employment cost assumptions, protect margins, and evaluate commercial risk across Tundra. The role will primarily support Tundra Managed Solutions (TMS), partnering with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Delivery, and other stakeholders to develop accurate pricing models and assess deal economics. The position will also support Talent Solutions, Direct Source, and other service lines, establishing consistent pricing methodologies and governance across the organization.
- Own the enterprise pricing intake and review process, ensuring review requirements and timelines reflect deal size, complexity, and risk.
- Lead or support pricing for time-and-materials, fixed-fee, milestone, managed-service, per-unit, direct source, payroll/employer-of-record, and other commercial models.
- Develop and maintain pricing models, rate cards, templates, approval thresholds, margin floors, and documented pricing assumptions.
- Translate staffing, delivery, and solution requirements into comprehensive deal economics, including revenue, direct labour, employment burdens, subcontractor costs, operating expenses, contingency, working capital, and target margins.
- Identify pricing risks and potential margin leakage, including overtime costs, unpriced scope, rate erosion, unrecovered expenses, rebates, outdated assumptions, and non-standard payment terms.
- Prepare deal-review materials outlining pricing assumptions, margin expectations, cash implications, sensitivities, risks, and required decisions.
- Own the methodology and maintenance of employment burden tables used in pricing, ensuring accurate calculations, version control, and effective dates.
- Coordinate annual burden-table reviews and interim updates when payroll taxes, insurance, benefits, pension requirements, leave requirements, or other statutory and employment costs change.
- Maintain documented burden calculations by relevant geography, worker classification, client or program requirements, and applicable cost caps or thresholds.
- Evaluate pricing for contract renewals and change requests, ensuring material scope changes are commercially assessed before work proceeds.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability through delivery mix, utilization, automation, offshore delivery, rate adjustments, scope management, and cost-to-serve improvements.
- Provide pricing analysis and scenario modelling across Talent Solutions, Direct Source, and other Tundra service lines, developing reusable benchmarks by geography, role, work type, client, and delivery model.
- Provide training and practical guidance to deal teams on pricing inputs, employment burdens, margin concepts, and approval requirements. Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations across jurisdictions.
