Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Epic Clarity Analyst to support healthcare data reporting, analytics, and data extraction activities within the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) environment.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Epic Clarity, SQL development, healthcare data models, report development, and troubleshooting data-related issues. The candidate will collaborate with reporting, analytics, clinical application, and database teams to deliver accurate and reliable healthcare data for operational, clinical, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SQL queries against the Epic Clarity reporting database.
- Analyze Epic Clarity data models, database tables, relationships, and reporting structures.
- Develop and support complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data extraction processes as applicable.
- Support operational, clinical, financial, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Work with Epic application analysts and business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies, query performance issues, and reporting defects.
- Validate data accuracy and completeness through reconciliation, testing, and quality checks.
- Support reporting and analytics solutions using Epic Clarity and related Epic data platforms.
- Collaborate with Epic Caboodle, Cogito, BI, and data warehouse teams where required.
- Maintain technical documentation, data definitions, query logic, and reporting specifications.
- Participate in testing, release management, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy, security, and organizational governance standards.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of relevant experience in healthcare data analytics, reporting, or database development.
- Hands-on experience with Epic Clarity.
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, aggregations, and performance optimization.
- Understanding of relational database concepts and healthcare data structures.
- Experience analyzing, validating, and reconciling data from clinical or administrative systems.
- Ability to gather requirements and translate business needs into technical reporting solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Experience supporting production reporting environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Epic Clarity certification - MUST
- Experience with Epic Cogito and Epic Caboodle.
- Familiarity with Epic Chronicles and the relationship between operational and reporting databases.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SSRS, or other business intelligence tools.
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows, including Epic Ambulatory, Inpatient, Revenue Cycle, or Patient Access.
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and healthcare reporting.
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare organization.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
