About The Role
A career as an AWS Cloud Senior Developer on the Corporate Services IT Delivery team at National Bank offers an exciting opportunity to act as a cloud development expert. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and modern infrastructure management to support and enhance the bank’s core applications and services. You will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and optimizing cloud environments that are secure, scalable, and high-performing. Your expertise will directly contribute to the evolution of the Accurate application, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the organization while maintaining the highest standards of security and reliability. This position provides a platform for professional growth, allowing you to make a tangible impact on the bank’s digital transformation journey and overall operational excellence.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, coupled with relevant software development experience. A minimum of five years of experience in software development within complex technological environments is required. Candidates with hands-on experience in AWS cloud development or equivalent platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud are preferred, and AWS certifications will be considered an asset. Strong knowledge of DevOps tools including Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and GitHub is essential, along with familiarity with Agile methodologies. Proficiency in SQL and experience developing solutions for critical production environments are also necessary. Prior experience in the banking sector, especially with reconciliation processes or the Accurate application, will be considered advantageous. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a proactive approach to learning and collaboration.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this role include designing, deploying, and continuously improving cloud infrastructure that supports the bank’s business applications. You will implement and optimize DevOps practices such as continuous integration, continuous delivery, automation, monitoring, and security protocols to ensure operational excellence. Developing and enhancing functionalities within the Accurate application to meet changing business requirements will be a key focus. You will also be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, reliability, and security of both development and production environments, adhering to industry best practices. Collaborating with cross-functional technology teams to implement scalable, robust solutions is vital, as is contributing to the ongoing refinement of cloud development standards, tools, and processes. You will participate in troubleshooting, incident management, and proactive capacity planning to support the bank’s digital infrastructure effectively.
