About The Role
Joining National Bank as a Full Stack Developer offers an exciting opportunity to be part of our Capital Markets development team. In this role, you will take ownership of critical applications that support traders in their daily activities. Your work will involve close collaboration with traders and other stakeholders within the Capital Markets division to understand their workflows, translate business needs into effective technological solutions, and oversee the entire application lifecycle from conception to deployment and ongoing support. This position provides a unique chance to see the tangible impact of your work on the business, as well as to develop your skills in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess at least three years of professional full-stack development experience, with a proven track record of delivering complete applications or projects. Strong expertise in back-end development using Python is essential, complemented by proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience in frameworks like React or Angular. Familiarity with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, is highly valued. Candidates should also have experience working with version control systems like Git, agile methodologies, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines. Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, containerization tools like Docker, and orchestration with Kubernetes will be advantageous. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills are required, along with a high level of ownership and attention to detail. A background or interest in finance, trading, or Capital Markets is considered an asset, as is curiosity and a willingness to deepen your expertise in these areas.
Responsibilities
- Partner directly with traders and other Capital Markets stakeholders to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
- Own the complete development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Develop and maintain reliable, scalable, high-performing full-stack applications that meet business requirements.
- Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement proactive measures to improve system performance and stability.
- Collaborate with fellow developers and technology partners to continuously enhance coding practices, solution quality, and overall system robustness.
- Share your expertise by mentoring less-experienced developers and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
