About The Role
As a Jetson System Designer, you will play a pivotal role in translating signed deals into actionable, install-ready plans. Your responsibilities will include conducting virtual home walkthroughs, validating system sizing, electrical capacity, and preparing comprehensive installation plans. These plans will ensure that our installation crews are well-equipped and that homeowners are fully informed, contributing to a seamless, single-day installation process. This role involves collaboration with various teams and requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a passion for sustainable energy solutions. Reporting directly to the Director of Customer Operations, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality, efficient installations across the US and Canada, helping to accelerate the adoption of clean energy technologies in residential settings.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with at least 3+ years of experience in HVAC design, electrical, or mechanical engineering. You should have a solid understanding of residential load calculations such as Manual J or CSA F280, and familiarity with electrical systems in accordance with NEC or Canadian Electrical Code standards. Experience working with CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and exhibit a results-oriented, detail-focused approach to work. Comfort working in fast-paced, growth-stage environments is essential, along with a genuine enthusiasm for clean energy initiatives. Bonus points will be awarded to those with field experience in HVAC installation or servicing, permitting, and familiarity with local building departments or HOA/Strata approval processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct virtual walkthroughs of customer sites using online meeting tools, capturing detailed photos and data markers necessary for calculations, site mapping, and materials planning.
- Perform and review heating and cooling load calculations (Manual J, CSA F280) to ensure accurate system sizing tailored to each home and regional climate conditions.
- Calculate electrical loads in compliance with NEC or Canadian Electrical Code, verifying panel capacities and identifying any required upgrades.
- Create detailed installation plans, including site layout, unit locations, panel placement, and lineset routing, optimized for completion within a single day.
- Manage permit acquisition processes, coordinate with local authorities, and prepare documentation for HOA or Strata approvals as needed.
- Maintain clear communication with Customer Success, Project Coordinators, and Operations teams to ensure project alignment and smooth execution.
- Track customer data, project progress, and documentation within Jetson’s CRM system to ensure accurate records and efficient workflow management.
