ABOUT THE HQ DIVISION
Operating year-round, Air Inuit’s Hydro-Québec Division provides air transportation services to key Hydro-Québec sites located throughout the Saguenay, Abitibi, North Shore, and James Bay regions.
The division currently operates a fleet of four aircraft, consisting of two Dash 8 Q400s and two Dash 8-300s. In 2026, these aircraft will be replaced by a modern fleet of ATR72-600s, reflecting our commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Technical Writer is responsible for the development, revision, and maintenance of technical documentation, procedures, forms, and training materials used by Maintenance personnel. Working closely with internal stakeholders, the Technical Writer ensures documentation is accurate, compliant, user-friendly, and aligned with operational and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in the research, development, revision, and maintenance of maintenance procedures, manuals, forms, and other controlled documents used by HQ Maintenance personnel;
- Assist in the development, revision, and maintenance of training programs and supporting training materials for Maintenance personnel;
- Develop reference documents, job aids, checklists, and other tools to support Maintenance personnel and improve operational efficiency;
- Draft, revise, and maintain technical forms, inspection documents, and maintenance-related records in accordance with company and regulatory requirements;
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather, organize, and document technical information required for maintenance procedures and documentation;
- Review existing documentation and recommend improvements to ensure consistency, accuracy, usability, and compliance;
- Monitor maintenance procedures and practices to promote compliance with Transport Canada regulations, company manuals, manufacturer publications, and approved maintenance programs;
- Support the Quality Assurance Department in the development, revision, and implementation of controlled documentation;
- Work closely with Maintenance, Technical Records, Engineering, and Quality Assurance personnel to support documentation projects and continuous improvement initiatives;
- Carry out any other tasks assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
- College diploma in Aviation, Aircraft Maintenance, Technical Writing, Administration, or another field related to the position;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the aviation industry;
- Experience in aircraft maintenance, quality assurance, technical records, technical publications, or a related aviation environment is considered an asset;
- Strong technical writing, editing, and document management skills;
- Ability to interpret, organize, and present technical, regulatory, and operational information in a clear and structured manner;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively with Maintenance personnel and other internal stakeholders;
- Knowledge of Transport Canada regulations and aviation industry standards is considered an asset.
