Your Opportunity:
As a Registered Nurse, you’ll be working in the Surgical & Endoscopy unit of the Rocky Mountain House Health Centre providing front line care to patients requiring surgical and endoscope procedures. As part of a multidisciplinary team you will be required to prepare patients for surgical and endo procedures, provide scrub, and circulating nurse duties during the procedure, post anesthesia recovery room support, pre procedure and post procedure care. The surgical and endoscopy teams provide on call support as part of an assigned rotation for emergency surgeries outside of regular hours of operation. New graduate RNs will be considered. Working within a team of compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals, you’ll utilize your critical thinking and problem solving skills to competently provide direct patient and family centered care to clients across the life span. You’ll be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, quality care following policies and guidelines of AHS. While demonstrating a professional, positive attitude, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, you have the ability to respond appropriately to a client’s change in status and prioritize conflicting demands. You accept responsibility for continuing competencies through ongoing professional development, including participation in education programs, and continuous improvement activities. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values. PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Able to arrive at facility within 30 minutes (or less) while assigned on call duty. Completion of an accredited peri-operative certification course.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year experience in the OR or Recovery Room or Day Surgery or Endoscopy.
