Description:
As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Strong prioritization, organization, and time management skills, along with exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, are essential. The incumbent must be able to function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and manage multiple competing priorities, often within restrictive timelines. Completion of, or willingness to complete, Connect Care training is required. This position services the High Intensity Unit/Stroke Observation Unit (5G3) under the Neurosciences ICU portfolio, and the successful candidate must be flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced computer skills in Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, e-People is preferred. Critical experience an asset.
