Job Description
The Seasonal Labourer supports the removal and installation of docks from lakes, as well as landscaping and related maintenance tasks, under the direction of the Team Lead or Equipment Operator. All work must be performed safely and within the employee’s abilities, with unsafe or unfamiliar situations reported immediately.
- Assist with the safe and efficient removal of docks from lakes, including handling, carrying, loading, and preparing dock components for transport or storage.
- Assist with dock installation, landscaping, and related maintenance work.
- Follow directions from the Team Lead and work cooperatively with the crew.
- Safely and efficiently operate tools and equipment related to dock removal, installation, and landscaping.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety requirements, workplace procedures, traffic laws, and PPE requirements.
- Report hazards or unsafe conditions to the Team Lead.
- Work safely around water, tight work areas, other workers, and the public.
Starting wage will be determined based on the candidate's skill set and experience
Required Skills
- Basic construction/carpentry skills and competent use of hand and power tools.
- Physically fit and able to climb and lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must be comfortable working around and in the water and able to swim.
- PCOC boating license is an asset.
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Extended periods of standing.
- Moderate to heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling.
- Regular work around lakes and potential exposure to cold water.
