Your New Role
As a Senior Software Developer (Full Stack), you will play a critical role in modernising and re-architecting core diagnostic and monitoring platforms. Working closely with product management, hardware engineering teams, and business stakeholders, you will design and develop scalable software solutions that combine web applications, backend services, cloud technologies, and hardware integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the architecture, redesign, and modernisation of mission-critical diagnostic and monitoring platforms.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications, APIs, and microservices using Node.js, C#, C++, and modern Single Page Application (SPA) frameworks.
- Optimising applications for performance, scalability, responsiveness, and security compliance.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business and technical requirements into robust software solutions.
- Driving software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and CI/CD best practices.
- Enhancing engineering productivity through the effective use of AI-assisted development tools.
- Developing and maintaining technical documentation, architecture diagrams, API specifications, and development standards.
- Supporting solution deployment and operations across Windows and Linux environments.
What You'll Need to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
- 7+ years of commercial software development experience.
- Strong experience developing enterprise applications using Node.js, C#, and C++.
- Proficiency with JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and modern SPA frameworks.
- Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs; exposure to gRPC or MQTT is considered an asset.
- Strong database experience with MySQL, DynamoDB, and NoSQL technologies.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting and developing solutions across both Windows and Linux environments.
- Exposure to embedded systems and hardware-software integrations would be highly desirable.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Cursor, and VS Code AI functionalities.
- Proven expertise in software architecture, application modernisation, and platform transformation initiatives.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, performance tuning, and secure software development skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with MFC VC++, PHP, or Go.
- Knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems design.
- Experience working with hardware diagnostics, monitoring platforms, or IoT-related applications.
