Job Summary:
Insight Global is seeking an Accessibility Technology Platform SME to support one of Canada's largest financial institutions on a contract basis in Toronto. This individual will serve as both the accessibility subject matter expert and technical platform lead for the bank's enterprise accessibility program.
In this role, you will lead a pod responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and remediating accessibility issues across customer-facing digital experiences. You will provide strategic guidance on accessibility requirements, platform capabilities, automated and manual testing approaches, remediation strategies, and regulatory compliance. Working closely with developers, designers, product teams, and business stakeholders, you will act as the primary advisor for the bank's accessibility scanning and monitoring platform, ensuring accessibility defects are accurately identified, evaluated, prioritized, and resolved.
You will be responsible for translating WCAG standards and accessibility regulations into practical remediation guidance, validating platform findings, overseeing issue triage and grading processes, conducting accessibility reviews, and advising teams on implementation best practices. This role requires a unique blend of accessibility expertise, platform architecture knowledge, and stakeholder management experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary SME and technical advisor for the bank's accessibility scanning and remediation platform
- Lead the evaluation and validation of accessibility findings generated through automated testing tools
- Review, grade, and prioritize accessibility defects to ensure accurate remediation efforts
- Provide accessibility guidance throughout the development lifecycle, from design reviews through production release
- Conduct accessibility reviews of wireframes, prototypes, and production-ready experiences
- Advise developers and delivery teams on compliant remediation approaches
- Partner with platform vendors and internal technology teams to improve scanning coverage and platform effectiveness
- Monitor regulatory changes and evolving accessibility standards, translating requirements into actionable guidance
- Support governance, reporting, and enterprise accessibility strategy initiatives
- Mentor project teams and accessibility practitioners on testing methodologies, assistive technology usage, and accessibility best practices
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience as an Accessibility Consultant, Accessibility SME, Accessibility Architect, or related role
- Deep expertise in applying and interpreting WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards and accessibility regulations, including: AODA, Accessible Canada Act (ACA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), EN 301 549
- Experience leading enterprise accessibility programs involving automated scanning, monitoring, and remediation workflows
- Strong understanding of accessibility testing methodologies, issue prioritization, grading, and remediation best practices
- Experience serving as a platform owner, platform architect, or technical lead for accessibility tools (AURA, Siteimprove, Deque Axe Monitor, Level Access, Monsido, etc.)
- Ability to evaluate platform scan results, validate findings, and provide recommendations on defect severity and remediation approaches
- Experience reviewing UX/UI designs in Figma and identifying accessibility risks prior to development
- Hands-on knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web application architecture
- Extensive experience using assistive technologies, including: JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
- Experience advising developers, designers, QA teams, and product owners on accessibility implementation and remediation strategies
- Strong communication and consulting skills with the ability to translate technical accessibility concepts into business-friendly recommendations
- Experience facilitating discussions between business, technology, compliance, and design stakeholders
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience:
- Background in software engineering, web development, or solution architecture
- Experience configuring, administering, or optimizing enterprise accessibility platforms
- Experience developing accessibility governance frameworks, defect management processes, or remediation standards
- Accessibility certifications such as: WAS (Web Accessibility Specialist), CPACC, IAAP certifications, Trusted Tester, NVDA Certification
- Experience creating code-level remediation recommendations for accessibility defects
- Experience supporting large enterprise organizations within Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other highly regulated industries
