Our client is a leading Automotive Manufacturer in Oakville, ON. We are seeking a large number of Quality Technicians to join their team a project.
Please Note: we are looking for individuals that will be able to start on Tuesday October 13th.
Responsibilities
- Inspect all parts to ensure they meet technical specifications and visual requirements.
- Act as the gatekeeper to ensure defective or non-conforming parts do not leave the area.
- Facilitate the flow of non-conforming parts into and out of the NC loop.
- Provide leaders with access to quality data and expertise to support their initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with defined QMS processes, ISO 9001, and Machinery Directive standards.
- Ensure the quality of assigned area(s) is managed with excellence.
- Determine the day-to-day priority of projects based on Operations' priorities.
- Perform part inspections, measurements, and rework as necessary.
- Label parts and complete the appropriate documentation.
- Document issues (e.g., via NC or DevOps) or communicate with the QC Technician to ensure proper documentation.
- Answer questions from Operations Team Members regarding suspected defects.
- Update the communications board based on required criteria and frequency.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Support process improvement activities such as Andon, Clinics, and audit activities.
- Train manufacturing team members on quality requirements, inspection, and testing practices.
- Train other Quality Technicians or students as required.
Qualifications
- High school and/or post-secondary education in mechanics, hydraulics, and/or electrical studies.
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven knowledge of inspection standards and practices.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Understanding of inspection practices and basic GD&T (ASME Y14.5M-1994).
- Working knowledge of gauges (mechanical, electrical, etc.) used in the quality process, as well as calibration procedures.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts to support business needs.
