About the Role
The Asset Management Governance team is seeking a collaborative and analytical Advisor, Asset Management Governance to help strengthen the integration of asset management practices across Gas Distribution and Storage (GDS).
Reporting to the Supervisor, Asset Management Governance, this role will support governance coordination, business analysis, process development, reporting, and integration activities across multiple initiatives and asset classes.
The successful candidate will work with business and technical stakeholders to define requirements, improve processes, manage dependencies, and support the implementation and continuous improvement of asset management practices within the Integrated Management System (IMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, facilitate, and maintain the GDS Asset Management Assurance Plan, including corrective and preventive actions.
- Support the development, implementation, and sustainment of assurance tools, processes, procedures, and Copperleaf job aids.
- Elicit, validate, prioritize, and document business, process, data, and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into process maps, business requirements, user stories, decision points, acceptance criteria, and implementation recommendations.
- Assess current-state processes, identify gaps, risks, dependencies, integration points, and improvement opportunities.
- Design practical future-state processes with clear roles, controls, handoffs, and performance measures.
- Plan and facilitate stakeholder interviews, requirements workshops, working sessions, process reviews, and training sessions.
- Coordinate asset management integration activities across business units, functions, asset classes, systems, jurisdictions, and enterprise initiatives.
- Support readiness planning and transition activities for new business units, systems, operating practices, and jurisdictions entering the GDS Asset Management Program.
- Partner with business, operations, engineering, technology, data, finance, and governance teams to align solutions with asset management policy, regulatory obligations, IMS requirements, and business priorities.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, requirements traceability, procedures, standards, templates, job aids, and decision records.
- Prepare status, progress, risk, issue, and decision reports for working teams and senior management, including Quarterly Management Reviews.
- Develop, manage, and continuously improve the Asset Management SharePoint site, including content organization, document control, and access permissions.
- Communicate complex policy, procedure, and practice-related matters clearly to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain change management, stakeholder engagement, training, and communications plans.
- Support business unit and enterprise asset management maturity assessments and assurance activities.
- Support the development, implementation, monitoring, and measurement of asset management performance metrics and benefits.
- Support onboarding, role clarity, and ongoing engagement of subject matter experts and stakeholders.
- Serve as the designated Management of Change coordinator for the Asset Management Program.
- Support IMS and records administration activities.
Qualifications
- University degree in a related discipline with five or more years of relevant experience; six or more years of field operations experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Seven to ten years of progressive experience in asset management, business analysis, program management, governance, process improvement, project planning, change management, or business initiative coordination.
- Demonstrated experience eliciting and documenting business requirements, conducting current-state and future-state analysis, developing process maps, and translating stakeholder needs into practical solutions.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify gaps and dependencies, evaluate options, and develop clear recommendations.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional integration activities and aligning processes, requirements, data, governance, and accountability across teams or business units.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear requirements, process documentation, executive presentations, reports, and decision materials.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
- Strong document management and organizational skills.
- Excellent relationship management, collaboration, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, and listening skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders, build alignment, resolve ambiguity, and move work forward through practical, results-oriented leadership.
- Experience planning and facilitating meetings, requirements workshops, process design sessions, and training.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, interdependencies, and deliverables while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Experience supporting changes to organizational processes, procedures, systems, or operating practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding ofutility business functions.
- Experience in the energy or utility sector, particularly in asset management, business analysis, engineering, project management, or change management.
- Knowledge of asset management principles, governance frameworks, lifecycle planning, risk-based decision-making, and performance management.
- Experience with business process modelling, requirements management, continuous improvement, or related business analysis methodologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise integration, operating model changes, system implementations, or process standardization across multiple business areas.
- Experience working with senior management and executive audiences.
- Experience with SharePoint, Copperleaf, or other asset management and portfolio planning tools.
- Certification in business analysis, change management, process improvement, project management, or asset management.
Compensation and Contract Details
Pay rate: $64.25/hour plus 4% vacation pay
- Travel: Expected to be less than 5%
- Work arrangement: Hybrid, based on business and role requirements
