Pay Range: CAD 55-60/hr
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis & Requirement Management
- Engage with business stakeholders (Billing, Customer Service, Finance, Regulatory) to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications (FSDs), BRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Conduct workshops, process walkthroughs, and stakeholder interviews.
- Perform gap analysis between current processes and SAP IS-U capabilities.
2. SAP IS-U Billing Expertise
- Work extensively on SAP IS-U Billing, Invoicing, and Billing Master Data.
- Understand and support:
- Rate determination & tariff structures
- Billing schemas & variants
- Meter reading integration
- Billing exceptions and recalculations
- Collaborate with SAP functional/technical teams for configuration and enhancements.
3. Process Improvement & Transformation
- Analyze current-state (AS-IS) billing processes and design future-state (TO-BE) models.
- Identify opportunities for:
- Automation (RPA, AI-driven validation)
- Billing accuracy improvement
- Cycle time reduction
- Support digital transformation initiatives (S/4HANA Utilities, CIS modernization, etc.).
4. Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop test strategy, test cases, and test scripts for billing scenarios.
- Participate in:
- SIT (System Integration Testing)
- UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
- Validate billing outputs, invoices, and calculations against expected results.
- Support defect triage and resolution.
5. Data & Reporting
- Analyze billing data for anomalies, revenue leakage, and exceptions.
- Support revenue assurance and audit requirements.
- Work with reporting tools (SAP BW/4HANA, Power BI, etc.) to track billing KPIs.
6. Regulatory & Compliance Support
- Ensure billing solutions comply with utility regulatory requirements (e.g., AUC, FERC, PUC).
- Support rate case implementations and tariff updates.
- Maintain documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
7. Stakeholder Management
- Act as liaison between:
- Business teams (Billing Ops, Finance)
- IT/SAP Delivery teams
- Third-party vendors/system integrators
- Provide regular updates to project leadership and SteerCo.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Skills
- Strong experience in SAP IS-U Billing & Invoicing
- Knowledge of utility business processes:
- Electricity/Gas Water billing lifecycle
- Meter-to-cash (M2C) processes
- Experience with rate structures and tariff configuration
- Proficiency in requirement gathering and documentation
Technical Skills
- SAP IS-U modules:
- Billing (IS-U-BI)
- Invoicing (IS-U-IV)
- Integration knowledge:
- SAP CRM / CS
- SAP S/4HANA Utilities (preferred)
- Data tools:
- SQL, Excel, Power BI (preferred)
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in utility companies (Electric/Gas) such as ENMAX, PG&E, etc.
- Exposure to S/4HANA Utilities transformation programs
- Knowledge of AIOps / AI-driven billing validation (advantage)
- Certification in SAP IS-U or Business Analysis (CBAP, CCBA)
