We’re seeking an Accountant to join a growing team in Calgary. This is a hands-on role suited to an accounting professional with 3+ years of progressive experience who enjoys a fast-paced environment and improving processes and systems.
What You’ll Do
- Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Support AP/AR and high-volume transactions
- Complete GST, PST and WCB filings
- Perform bank and inventory reconciliations
- Provide financial and variance analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems
- Support ad hoc projects and initiatives
What you bring
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Experience with GL accounting, reconciliations and month-end close
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Microsoft 365 Business Central experience is an asset
- CPA studies or designation is an asset
- Retail experience is an asset
