Logistics Support Manager, Aerospace & Defence
Location: Calgary, AB | Work Arrangement: 100% on site | Permanent | $95,000 to $100,000
Please note: this role requires logistics or supply chain experience in aerospace, defence or the Canadian Armed Forces. Applications without it will not be considered.
About the Opportunity
Our client, an established aerospace and defence organization, is looking for a Logistics Support Manager to lead its Calgary logistics operation and take it to the next level.
The site is compact, but the mandate is big. They need a strategic leader who can look at how things run today, see what needs to change, and make it happen. You won't be the one on the floor. You'll set the direction and lead through your supervisors and team leads.
What You'll Do
- Own the strategy and performance of the Calgary logistics operation in support of long-term defence programs
- Lead major process change: identify the gaps, build the plan and see it through
- Lead through supervisors and team leads, and develop your people
- Drive resource planning, budgets and KPIs, and keep leadership informed of status, risks and needs
- Ensure operations meet contractual, quality and regulatory requirements, including controlled and high-value materials
- Partner with program, supply chain, quality and operations stakeholders
What You Bring
- Logistics or supply chain experience in aerospace, defence or the Canadian Armed Forces (required)
- Proven experience leading through other leaders, not just front-line teams
- A track record of driving real operational or process change
- Strong planning, budgeting and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with ERP, WMS or inventory management systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance
Strong Assets
- Experience supporting defence or military sustainment programs
- Military or Canadian Armed Forces logistics experience
- Knowledge of Controlled Goods and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality environments
- A supply chain or logistics designation (e.g., SCMP, CSCP, CPIM, P.Log), Lean or Six Sigma
