Job Overview
We are currently requesting resumes for a Project Leader to lead and administer the organization, coordination and execution of multidisciplinary projects. The successful candidate will lead matrix project teams, coordinate project documentation, and ensure Project Management and Contract Management governance requirements are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
The Project Leader will be responsible for managing projects from identification through closeout, ensuring objectives and commitments are delivered within approved safety, quality, budget and schedule targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning and execution, including scope development, cost estimating, scheduling, risk management and project closeout.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project requirements, roles and deliverables are clearly understood.
- Support scope and constructability reviews and contribute to Business Case submissions, project approvals and funding requests.
- Manage project issues and changes, ensuring impacts to scope, schedule and cost are identified, controlled and appropriately approved.
- Coordinate Contract Management activities throughout the contracting lifecycle, including RFP development, bidding, award and execution.
- Prepare, coordinate and maintain project documentation and provide guidance to project team members as required.
- Support the evaluation, management and disposition of surplus equipment associated with cancelled construction projects or other project activities.
- Apply current project management, engineering and construction practices and identify opportunities for improved processes, methods and techniques.
- Ensure project activities comply with applicable commercial, construction, quality assurance, environmental, health and safety requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in an appropriate discipline, combined with post-secondary education in project management and/or business economics, or equivalent education and experience.
- 6–8 years of progressive project management experience, including projects of increasing complexity.
- Experience developing project requirements and plans, preparing cost estimates and forecasts, supporting RFP and contract award processes, managing execution and completing project closeout.
- Experience managing multiple-contract and/or multi-stakeholder projects with schedule constraints.
- Experience with equipment and processes within a generating station, heavy industrial or similar environment.
- Knowledge of cost accounting, forecasting, commercial contracting, construction methods, codes and standards, quality assurance and health and safety.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across scope, schedule, cost and quality.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of environmental protection requirements and associated project considerations.
