About this opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Downstream Site Projects, the Contract Construction Planner plays a critical role in supporting project construction planning and execution. This position ensures all assigned tasks are completed in accordance with established project execution processes, on time and within budget, while driving continuous improvement in construction and execution practices.
What you'll do:
- Review approved scope and confirm all required documentation is complete.
- Develop execution plans including P&ID markups, inspection drawings/tabs, plot plan updates, and BOMs.
- Create detailed step-out plans in P6 to enable safe and efficient execution of work.
- Integrate multi-discipline execution activities into logical sequences to develop an overall detailed construction and execution plan.
- Participate in contractor validation reviews, field walks, schedule quality reviews, and optimization sessions.
- Support responses to contractor RFIs as designated by the Lead Planner, including AWRs submitted during the planning phase.
- Assist schedulers with labor levelling across operating units.
- Lead scope review, job plan index reviews, and scope challenge sessions.
- Lead detailed schedule reviews.
- Coordinate with project, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure material readiness and approved work packages.
- Develop contract strategies and review RFPs during contractor selection phases.
- Monitor progress, costs, and performance; manage added work, maintain BOMs/material masters, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Who you are:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.
- Red Seal Journeyman certification, technical diploma, or process operations background.
- Experience supporting project execution and construction planning.
- Experience working with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, CMMS, or GWAS is considered an asset.
