New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a part-time Business Analyst to support an ERP needs analysis and readiness assessment for a public-sector client in Nova Scotia. This is a part-time consulting engagement with variable hours over approximately 14 months, with the majority of the Business Analyst effort expected during the initial needs assessment and requirements phase.
The successful candidate will work with a Senior ERP Consultant and Project Manager to conduct stakeholder discovery, assess current business processes and systems, identify gaps and opportunities, and develop functional and business requirements to support a future ERP procurement. Candidates based in Halifax, Truro, or elsewhere in Nova Scotia are preferred, as onsite workshops and stakeholder sessions will be required in Truro.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and facilitate stakeholder interviews, discovery sessions, and requirements workshops across multiple departments.
- Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Document current-state processes, workflows, systems, pain points, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop future-state process considerations and identify opportunities to streamline and standardize business processes.
- Conduct gap analysis between current capabilities and future business requirements.
- Support assessment of data, reporting, integration, migration, and system requirements.
- Develop process maps, requirements documentation, traceability artifacts, workshop materials, and related deliverables.
- Support organizational readiness and change-impact assessment activities.
- Assist with prioritizing requirements as mandatory, desirable, or optional for a future ERP procurement.
- Support development and review of ERP RFP requirements and subsequent vendor evaluation activities.
- Work collaboratively with client stakeholders, the Senior ERP Consultant, and Project Manager.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar experience supporting complex technology or business transformation initiatives.
- Strong experience with requirements elicitation, stakeholder interviews, and workshop facilitation.
- Demonstrated experience documenting current-state and future-state business processes and workflows.
- Strong experience with business and functional requirements, process mapping, and gap analysis.
- Experience supporting enterprise application, ERP, financial systems, system replacement, or modernization initiatives is preferred.
- Experience with data migration, integrations, reporting, and/or system readiness assessments is an asset.
- Public-sector or municipal experience is an asset.
- Strong analytical, facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Ability to support a part-time engagement with variable effort, particularly during the initial assessment phase.
- Ability to attend periodic onsite workshops and meetings in Truro, Nova Scotia.
