New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a part-time Senior IT Project Manager to support an ERP needs assessment, readiness, procurement, and vendor selection engagement for a public-sector client in Nova Scotia. This is a part-time consulting engagement with variable hours over approximately 14 months, working alongside a Senior ERP Consultant and Business Analyst.
The successful candidate will provide hands-on project management throughout the engagement, with responsibility for project planning, coordination, stakeholder meetings, reporting, documentation, schedule and risk management. Candidates based in Halifax, Truro, or elsewhere in Nova Scotia are preferred, as periodic onsite participation will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the project plan, schedule, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate project activities across the consulting team and client stakeholders.
- Plan and coordinate stakeholder meetings, workshops, deliverable reviews, and project checkpoints.
- Prepare agendas, meeting documentation, status reports, action logs, RAID logs, and other project governance artifacts.
- Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, decisions, and dependencies.
- Support stakeholder engagement across multiple business and technology departments.
- Coordinate development, review, and submission of project deliverables.
- Work closely with the Senior ERP Consultant and Business Analyst throughout the needs assessment, ERP procurement, and vendor evaluation phases.
- Maintain effective communication with client project leadership and other stakeholders.
- Support quality assurance and ensure project activities and deliverables remain aligned with the approved work plan.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience managing IT, digital transformation, enterprise systems, or business transformation projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects through planning, execution, monitoring, reporting, and completion.
- Strong experience with project governance, scheduling, status reporting, risk and issue management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Experience facilitating meetings and working with senior business and technology stakeholders.
- Experience supporting enterprise application, ERP, financial systems, system modernization, or similar technology initiatives is preferred.
- Public-sector or municipal project experience is an asset.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
- Strong written communication, documentation, organizational, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to support a part-time engagement with variable effort over approximately 14 months.
- Ability to attend periodic onsite meetings and workshops.
