An established transportation and logistics organization is
seeking a Claims Specialist (Freight Claims & OS&D) to take
ownership of freight claims within a high-volume LTL environment.
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience managing freight claims from initial notification through resolution, including OS&D investigations, liability assessment, documentation, and claim settlements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage
the end-to-end freight claims process, including damage, shortage,
overage, loss, and other OS&D matters
- Investigate
claims by reviewing BOLs, PODs, photos, shipment records, and other
supporting documentation
- Assess
liability and carrier responsibility and coordinate claim resolution with
customers, carriers, terminals, and insurance providers
- Manage
claim documentation, follow-up, settlements and disputes
- Track
claims activity, identify trends, and work with Operations to reduce
recurring freight issues
- Maintain
accurate claim records and reporting in accordance with company policies
and transportation requirements
What They're Looking For
- 3+
years of experience in freight claims, cargo claims, OS&D,
transportation operations, or LTL logistics
- Direct,
hands-on experience owning freight claims from investigation through
resolution
- Strong
OS&D experience, including damaged, missing, short, and over freight
- Understanding
of carrier liability, cargo insurance, claims procedures, and freight
documentation
- Strong
investigative, analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability
to manage multiple claims in a fast-paced, high-volume transportation
environment
- Experience
with an LTL carrier, transportation company, or 3PL strongly preferred
