About The Role
We are seeking a data-driven, highly technical Digital Marketing Specialist to lead and optimize our full-funnel digital marketing operations, performance advertising, e-commerce growth, and brand presence.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end marketing strategies, execution, and analytics across Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok, SEO, e-commerce management (Shopify & Google Merchant Center), and advanced email automation (Klaviyo). You will also design visual marketing collateral and be a first point of contact to junior-level team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital Campaign Strategy & Ad Execution: Plan, execute, and optimize performance marketing campaigns across Google Ads and Meta Ads; structure keyword bidding, write ad copy, and refine landing page layouts to lower customer acquisition costs.
- Social Media & Content Strategy: Formulate and manage digital content across social channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok); outline video scripts, establish visual layout guidelines, and create content templates to maintain consistent brand presentation.
- Direct Email Marketing & Automation: Design, build, and deploy email marketing programs; manage system migration to automated email platforms (Klaviyo), establishing customer segment flows and promotional newsletters.
- E-Commerce & Website Performance (SEO): Analyze and optimize Shopify product pages, user experience (UI), and Google Merchant Center product feeds; conduct technical SEO and Google Search Console audits to improve search traffic.
- Data Infrastructure & Performance Analytics: Implement tracking via Google Tag Manager (GTM) and Google Analytics (GA4); analyze campaign metrics and user engagement to provide data-driven recommendations to management.
- Community Management & Review Programs: Oversee social media account communications and customer inquiries; coordinate review generation programs to improve cross-platform public ratings and collect user feedback.
- Market Research & Competitive Analysis: Conduct market and competitor research within the CleanTech and renewable energy sector to identify emerging trends, consumer insights, and campaign opportunities.
- Cross-Functional & Offshore Coordination: Coordinate between Canadian marketing leadership, development teams, and international vendors to align marketing assets, product documentation, and campaign rollouts.
- Process Standardization & Training: Establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for marketing workflows and content formats; onboard, train and support junior-level team members including Co-op students and new hires.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): As part of this role, you will be accountable for meeting established performance metrics and targets aligned with departmental goals. Success is evaluated through regular reviews focusing on output quality, task efficiency, and core deliverable completion.
Qualifications
- Education: University degree or college diploma, certificate of digital marketing, E-commerce or social media
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of progressive, hands-on experience managing digital marketing campaigns and e-commerce platforms. Prior experience in technical products or the clean-technology/renewable energy sector is a strong asset.
- Technical Software & Stack Proficiency (Mandatory):
- Advertising Platforms: Google Ads Manager, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads.
- E-Commerce & Search: Shopify, Google Merchant Center, Google Search Console.
- Analytics & Tracking: Hands-on experience configuring Google Tag Manager (GTM) custom tags/triggers and Google Analytics (GA4) attribution models.
- Email Automation: Demonstrated experience with Klaviyo flow architecture and direct platform migrations (e.g., Constant Contact to Klaviyo).
- Design Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or Canva for ad visual production.
