Field Superintendent
- Contract Length: 2 months and 12 days
- Location: Key Lake, Saskatchewan
- Fly In Fly Out Camp accommodations provided
- Rotation (2 weeks in-2weeks out, 11 hours a day)
- Company Charter Flights provided - Departing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
- Contractors are expected to travel to Saskatoon for chartered flights to camp sites.

Field Superintendent on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.
Description
The Field Superintendent in this role, will be working on a Tank Refurbishment Project and will be primarily responsible for ensuring that all contractors and direct-hire personnel within your designated area adhere strictly to safety program requirements. You will oversee structural and mechanical/piping scopes of work, manage contractor performance, drive project schedules, and collaborate closely with operations to guarantee safe, high-quality project execution.
Responsibilities
- The Field Superintendent has primary responsibility to ensure contractors within their area are working in a safe manner abiding by all safety program requirements
- The Field Superintendent will review and/or develop detailed work plans according to ’s workface planning processes
- In some instances, the Field Superintendent may perform supervision of direct field labour on mechanical/piping scopes of work ensuring the work is completed safely and to a high quality standard
- In some instances, the Field Superintendent will oversee the contractor’s activities of a mechanical/piping nature confirming the work is completed safely and according to all contract requirements
- Inspections of completed work to confirm it is completed to appropriate standards, identifying deficiencies and managing the completion of deficiencies
- Monitoring the schedule and productivity of work and work collaboratively with the contractor and operations personnel to resolve issues and barriers
- Daily validation and approval of contractor submitted labour, equipment and material reports
- Responsible to coordinate field activities between contractors and the operations team as required
Qualifications
- Senior (10+ years) preferred (Intermediate candidates with 4-9 years of highly relevant heavy industrial or mining experience will also be considered)
- Minimum of 4 to 10+ years of heavy industrial construction, mining, or major project execution experience in a supervisory or superintendent capacity.
- Direct experience with tank refurbishment projects, with a strong preference for candidates holding a background as a certified Boilermaker.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience overseeing or executing mechanical/piping installation, repair, and quality control standards.
- Proven track record of managing third-party contractors, reviewing daily progress reports, and resolving schedule or productivity roadblocks.
- Experience implementing workface planning processes and conducting rigorous quality/safety field inspections.
- Education and Certifications
- Interprovincial Red Seal certification in a relevant trade (e.g., Boilermaker, Mechanical, or Pipefitting) or a related engineering/technologist diploma is strongly preferred.
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO) designation is mandatory.
- Valid standard first aid and industry-standard supervisory leadership training are considered strong assets.
