In this role, you won't just be sweeping floors - you will be a critical part of our high-production multi-family apartment projects across Winnipeg. You will work alongside our trade crews, taking on diverse, hands-on tasks that keep our job sites moving efficiently. This is the perfect position for someone who already has a solid foundation in construction and wants to build a long-term career with one company.
Key Responsibilities
-
Site Support & Preparation: Assist carpenters, framers, and drywallers with material handling, layout prep, and staging materials across multi-unit structures.
-
Tool Operations: Safely and efficiently operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, grinders, pneumatic tools).
-
Site Maintenance & Safety: Take initiative in keeping individual units and broader job sites clean, organized, and running safely.
-
Material Management: Unload, move, and organize heavy building materials, ensuring site inventory is secure and accessible to the trade teams.
-
Trade Collaboration: Work productively alongside other site teams in a fast-paced environment to keep project phases ahead of schedule.
What We’re Looking For
-
Experience: Proven experience working on active commercial or residential construction sites (apartment build experience is a major asset).
-
Knowledge: Strong understanding of general job site safety practices, tool operation, and basic building materials.
-
Mindset: Someone who shows up on time every day, takes pride in a clean and safe job site, and brings a team-first attitude.
What You’ll Need
-
Mobility: A valid Manitoba driver’s licence and a reliable vehicle to travel to various job sites within Winnipeg.
-
Physical Capabilities: The ability to lift 50+ lbs consistently, stand for extended periods, and work safely on ladders, scaffolding, and at heights.
-
Gear: Your own personal PPE (CSA-approved steel-toe boots, hard hat, safety vest) and basic hand tools.
