UX Designer
We are looking for an experienced UX Designer to create intuitive, accessible, and user-centered digital experiences for web and mobile applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design user-friendly GUI and interaction experiences based on user needs, behavior, and performance.
- Lead UX projects, design workshops, and stakeholder/business-user alignment sessions.
- Conduct end-to-end user research, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, recruitment, and synthesis.
- Create user flows, journey maps, sitemaps, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Gather and analyze user feedback and iterate designs based on usability testing.
- Identify UX challenges and develop practical, intuitive design solutions.
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Clearly communicate design concepts and prepare design documentation and recommendations.
- Design responsive experiences across web, mobile, and multiple device interfaces.
Required Skills
- Experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, Interaction Designer, or similar role.
- Strong experience designing web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency with Figma, Canvas, and similar design/prototyping tools.
- Strong knowledge of user research, usability testing, wireframing, prototyping, and interaction design.
- Understanding of web development technologies and their design limitations.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the Ontario Design System (ODS).
- Knowledge of the Ontario Digital Service Standard.
- Knowledge of accessibility testing and WCAG 2.1 AA.
- Experience working with legacy systems and complex stakeholder environments.
- Previous OPS/public-sector experience.
