We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a complex transformation initiative for a public-sector organization. This individual will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners to understand operational needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, validate, and document business and functional requirements
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirements-gathering sessions
- Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, use cases, and solution requirements
- Conduct current-state assessments, gap analyses, and future-state process design
- Identify business impacts, risks, dependencies, and implementation considerations
- Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, testing, and business-readiness activities
- Develop business cases, recommendations, reports, and supporting documentation
- Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, technical teams, and third-party vendors
- Support user acceptance testing, change management, training, and implementation
- Ensure project documentation aligns with organizational governance and quality standards
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst within the public sector or a highly regulated environment
- Strong requirements elicitation, documentation, process mapping, and gap-analysis skills
- Experience translating business needs into clear technical or solution requirements
- Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and communication skills
- Experience supporting technology, digital transformation, or business-process improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
- Experience with user stories, acceptance criteria, process models, and traceability
- Ability to work effectively across business and technical teams
- CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or an equivalent certification is considered an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
