Network Engineer II
Job Description:
The Network Engineer is responsible for planning and developing network infrastructure designs to meet company needs, current and future. Utilizing data analytics/monitoring/alerting you will provide technical direction on future network design that will meet/exceed the long-term trends based on actual data/statistics. This role interacts with global peers and partners/providers to review, share designs, assist in building product and platform roadmaps.
Responsibilities:
- Configure Network equipment like Switches, Routers, AP, Firewalls located at over 430 sites, via remote access and in person.
- Update or upgrade existing hardware, or implement new functionalities (e.g. New Backup LTE, DSL migration, VLAN deployment, Racking/stacking/cabling, Switches retrofit, Routers upgrade)
- Participate in troubleshooting sessions with multidisciplinary teams and with vendor partners to ensure optimal network operation.
- Contact associates in business unities, like stores and distribution centers.
- Open tickets with vendor partners, mainly for equipment manufacturers and ISPs.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network systems for new ways to improve performance.
- Perform data backups, update virus protection software, and implement new network data security systems.
Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer engineering or electronic Engineering.
- Knowledge on all Cisco and Juniper platforms (Routers, Switches).
- Experience developing, designing, configuring, and supporting large network infrastructures, most notably in the WAN and LAN domain.
- Knowledge of Server/workstation Operating systems and basic support/troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Network Security concepts, components, and architecture.
- Knowledgeable in Routing Protocols, especially, BGP, OSPF and EIGRP
- CCNP, CCIE or JNCIE certification is an asset.
- Wifi knowledge, concepts and support experience is an asset.
- Experience with programming/coding skills, scripting level is an asset.
