Our client is an established Canadian real estate services firm that manages a substantial commercial portfolio nationwide. They are seeking a building operations leader for an Edmonton industrial portfolio - someone who can bring hands-on technical expertise, lead a team, deliver excellent tenant service and drive long-term building improvements.

Our client is an established real estate organization with an industrial portfolio in Edmonton. Its property management and operations teams work closely together to maintain safe, well-performing buildings and provide responsive service to tenants.
Your New Role
Reporting to the National Director, Operations, you will oversee day-to-day operations for an assigned multi-building portfolio while supporting properties across the Edmonton region. You will lead and mentor Building Operators, coordinate vacation coverage and participate in the regional on-call rotation. Based in Edmonton, this full-time, on-site role involves regular travel between properties.
You will promote preventive maintenance, troubleshoot complex building-system issues and recommend practical improvements. In partnership with property management, you will contribute to capital planning, assess repair and replacement options, prepare scopes of work and oversee maintenance, capital and tenant improvement projects. You will also monitor work orders, manage contractors, conduct property inspections and support health and safety initiatives across the region.
What Sets You Apart
You bring at least seven years of commercial building operations experience, including experience leading or mentoring a technical team. A 5th Class Power Engineer certification is required, and a 4th Class certification is a strong asset. You have sound knowledge of HVAC, building automation, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and fire/life safety systems, and can identify the root cause of building issues and develop cost-effective solutions.
You are an approachable leader who communicates well with tenants, contractors and colleagues. You can balance competing priorities, make sound decisions independently and use Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems. A valid driver’s licence is required.
