About The Opportunity
Our Public Sector client has a requirement for one (1) Senior Procurement Specialist to provide procurement reporting and standard operating procedure support during a temporary increase in workload.
The successful candidate will support recurring and ad hoc procurement reporting activities, including data validation, records maintenance, report tracking, process documentation, and the development and updating of standard operating procedures. The work may involve both IT and non-IT procurement activities and reporting used for management, governance, oversight, compliance, proactive disclosure, Indigenous procurement reporting, workload monitoring, and other operational requirements.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist with recurring and ad hoc procurement reporting activities
- Compile, organize, review, and validate procurement-related information obtained from systems, templates, trackers, and supporting documentation
- Review procurement data and reporting information for completeness, consistency, and alignment with established reporting requirements and data definitions
- Identify and communicate data quality issues, information gaps, inconsistencies, process concerns, or reporting risks
- Support the development and maintenance of procurement reporting information, summaries, tables, trackers, dashboards, and related reporting materials
- Respond to requests for procurement-related information by gathering, organizing, and summarizing available information
- Maintain reporting records, supporting documentation, working files, action logs, and other information required to support reporting activities
- Assist in documenting established procurement reporting processes, procedures, and related activities
- Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures, process documentation, work instructions, checklists, data definitions, and records management guidance related to procurement reporting functions
- Review and document existing reporting processes, including data sources, key activities, review requirements, dependencies, and quality-control practices
- Identify opportunities to improve the clarity, consistency, and standardization of procurement reporting procedures and supporting documentation
- Support the maintenance and organization of process documentation to facilitate operational continuity, knowledge transfer, and staff onboarding
- Revise process documentation and related guidance materials based on direction and feedback
- Participate in meetings, working sessions, and status discussions related to assigned reporting and SOP activities
- Communicate progress, priorities, issues, risks, and information requirements
- Monitor and track assigned reporting and documentation activities and maintain related status information
- Support knowledge transfer related to procurement reporting processes, procedures, and supporting documentation
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Certificate, diploma or degree from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution in a relevant field or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant work experience
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience supporting a procurement reporting function using SAP / IFMS
- Experience using SAP / IFMS to extract, interpret, validate, reconcile, or analyze procurement data for the preparation of procurement reports for external reporting to central agencies, responses to Access to Information and Privacy requests, Order Paper Questions, or other procurement-related reporting products
- Experience supporting procurement or administrative reporting, data review, Excel-based tracking tools, written procedures, document control, and status reporting
- Experience preparing or maintaining reporting products, trackers, dashboards, or management information tools
- Experience reviewing data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare procedures, checklists, trackers, tables, and reporting products
- Experience documenting step-by-step business processes or standard operating procedures
- Experience organizing multiple recurring tasks, deadlines, and source documents
- Ability to communicate issues, risks, and progress clearly to management or project leads
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks, organize information, prepare clear written procedures, identify data or process issues, and escalate questions or risks as required
- Active Reliability Status security clearance
About the Job
- Contract Duration: November 2, 2026 to March 31, 2027 (up to 104 resource days)
- Work Environment: Full-time onsite in Ottawa, Ontario
