New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Modeller for a long-term engagement. The successful candidate will have extensive Oracle database experience with particular strength in data modelling, PL/SQL development, database performance optimization and data integration.
This is a hybrid engagement supporting a client in the National Capital Region (NCR), and may include substantial onsite work.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models for Oracle databases.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages and triggers.
- Analyze and optimize database performance, including query tuning and indexing.
- Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks using appropriate monitoring and diagnostic tools.
- Support extraction, transformation and loading of data between relational database systems.
- Use Oracle development and data modelling tools to support database design and maintenance.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the past 15 years working as a software developer, database modeller and/or database administrator.
- Minimum 3 years within the past 5 years developing and maintaining Oracle databases, including complex SQL and Oracle PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, packages and triggers.
- Strong experience designing conceptual, logical and physical data models for Oracle databases.
- Strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL development experience.
- Experience with database performance optimization, query tuning and indexing.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, science, computer science, mathematics or a technology domain.
Preferred
- Experience performing ETL activities between relational database systems.
- Experience with Microsoft Access, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Oracle SQL Developer and/or Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeller.
- Aviation or aerospace experience.
