The Scheduler integrates Operations, Maintenance, Projects, contractors, and supporting resources to ensure the event is executable, appropriately resourced and positioned for safe, efficient execution. This role will support all 4 oil sands sites- Christina Lake, Foster Creek, Sunrise, Christina Lake North
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Master Execution Schedule, integrating Operations, Maintenance, Projects, Construction, commissioning and start-up activities.
- Develop the work breakdown structure (WBS), activity codes, schedule logic and resource loading required to support effective planning and execution.
- Integrate work package information into the schedule and audit job plans for sequencing, logic, duration, resources and optimization opportunities.
- Finalize and baseline the schedule, establish the critical path, and continuously identify opportunities to safely optimize event duration.
- Determine and monitor resource requirements, availability, utilization, and shift calendars, including capacity and resource levelling.
- Develop equipment utilization requirements for cranes, cleaning equipment and other shared resources, and support logistics planning such as camp requirements.
- Maintain and communicate schedule updates, progress, KPIs, critical-path impacts and schedule compliance throughout preparation and execution.
- Work closely with Turnaround Coordinators, Planners, Operations, Maintenance, contractors, vendors and third parties to ensure scheduled activities and resource requirements are understood and coordinated.

- Support development of Turnaround resource estimates, budgets, cost management and annual maintenance budget requirements.
- Participate in preparation and execution meetings, communicating scheduling milestone status, risks and emerging issues.
- Support execution by auditing work progress and adjusting the schedule as conditions, priorities and scope change.
- Support Turnaround close-out, including final reporting and incorporation of lessons learned into future schedules and scheduling practices.
Qualifications

- Advanced hands-on proficiency in Primavera P6 for complex, fully integrated, resource-loaded master execution schedules.
- Demonstrated ability to construct and manage WBS hierarchies, activity coding structures, logic networks, earned value tracking, and cross-functional integration (combining Operations, Maintenance, Capital Projects, Construction, and Commissioning into a single master schedule).
- Proven ability to run resource levelling, analyze trade capacities, and build shared-equipment/logistics execution plans. (managing craft resource curves, shift calendars, crew trade loading, and scheduling shared high-demand assets (e.g., mobile cranes, specialized cleaning units) alongside site logistics constraints such as camp capacity limits.)
- Expertise in establishing baseline schedules, isolating primary/secondary critical paths, performing live field progress audits, and updating dynamic forecast completion dates.( Evidence of conducting daily execution updates, field progress verification, logic/float adjustments during dynamic scope changes, and delivering clear schedule mitigation options to leadership when critical path delays emerge.
