We are seeking a Product Manager for our client, a growing organization in the industrial electronics and automation space. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career engineer who enjoys working directly with customers and wants to transition into a product-focused role at the intersection of engineering, customer needs and commercial strategy.
This newly created position will focus on the front end of the product development process - working with customers to understand their equipment, applications and technical challenges, then translating those needs into clearly defined product requirements for the engineering team.

Location: Mississauga, ON
Work Model: Hybrid – 4 days onsite / 1 day working from home
Salary: $85,000–$95,000 base
Additional Compensation: Annual company profit sharing
Travel: Customer travel required, primarily within the U.S. with potential international travel
What You’ll Be Doing
- Work directly with heavy equipment and engine manufacturers/OEM customers to understand their equipment, applications, technical requirements and operational challenges
- Lead customer discovery conversations and ask targeted technical questions to uncover complete application requirements
- Gather technical information including inputs/outputs, motors, data sheets, power requirements, dimensional constraints and other product specifications
- Translate customer needs into clearly defined product requirements for the engineering team
- Act as a key bridge between customers and an approximately 35-person engineering organization
- Develop a strong understanding of electronic products including circuit boards, housings/connectors, embedded software, inputs/outputs and electrical power concepts
- Identify opportunities for electronic controls and automation solutions to improve or automate customer equipment
- Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from initial customer and product definition through engineering, production and commercial release
- Support product launches related to machine automation, autonomous equipment and robotics
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, Quality, Sales and Marketing
- Monitor relevant technology, automation and market trends across industries including construction, agriculture, mining, transportation, marine and large engines
- Support product positioning, feature identification, technical marketing and related collateral
- Help ensure customer requirements are thoroughly understood early in development to reduce unnecessary engineering revisions
- Build strong customer relationships and create an environment where customers are comfortable discussing technical challenges and requirements
- Travel to customer locations as required, primarily throughout the U.S. with potential international travel
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Electrical, Software, Computer, Mechatronics, Controls/Automation Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience preferred; strong recent graduates with relevant co-op or internship experience will also be considered
- Foundational understanding of electronics, electrical controls, inputs/outputs, power and embedded/software functionality
- Strong customer-facing communication skills with the confidence and curiosity to ask detailed technical questions
- Personable, relationship-oriented approach with an interest in understanding how customers use technology in real-world applications
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Valid G driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and ability to travel to the U.S. and internationally
- Ability to work onsite in Mississauga approximately 4 days per week
- Experience within heavy equipment, automation, controls, mining, agriculture, automotive or industrial electronics is considered an asset
- MBA or additional business education is considered an asset
