Our client is a well-funded, independent, non-profit organization located in the west end of Ottawa, and they are seeking a Finance Manager to join their team! Reporting to the Director, Finance & Operations, the Finance Manager supports the day-to-day financial management of the organization and contributes to achieving its financial and operational objectives. The position helps ensure accurate financial information, compliance with funding requirements, and effective financial processes. The Finance Manager is a key resource to the Director and Manager of IT, providing timely financial information, analysis, and support that contributes to effective planning, decision-making, and financial management. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and strong business partnering abilities. Main responsibilities include:
- Prepare budgets, forecasts, and projections, monitor financial performance, and support funding proposals and business cases
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management, funders, committees, and the Board, ensuring they are accurate and timely
- Maintain cash flow forecasts, support project budget monitoring, prepare funder claims, and monitor compliance with funding agreements
- Coordinate the annual audit, prepare government filings and remittances, monitor policy and legislative compliance, support financial controls, and escalate issues to the Director
- Oversee payroll, benefits, banking, and reconciliations, review supporting documentation, and support improvements to financial systems and processes
- Provide financial analysis to management and project teams, partner with the Manager, Accounting & IT, build collaborative relationships, and support special projects

Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in accounting, finance, business, commerce or a related field
- CPA completed or in progress is considered an asset
- Minimum 4+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Strong business partnering skills with the ability to make recommendations
- Previous experience with funding agreements is an asset
- Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
