Compensation
- Competitive base salary of $150,000 – $175,000+*, commensurate with experience

The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a proven print manufacturing professional who understands that successful operations are built through people, process, customers, quality and accountability.
Position Description
The General Manager will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the business, while working closely with ownership and senior leadership to drive profitability, operational excellence and long-term growth. The General Manager will provide leadership across production, sales, customer service, estimating, scheduling, purchasing, quality and administration, ensuring the organization operates as one cohesive team.
The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the print manufacturing environment and the ability to move seamlessly between the production floor, customers and senior leadership. This is not simply an office-based management position - it is an opportunity for a hands-on leader who is comfortable being in the operation, solving problems and developing people.
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the company’s daily operations.
- Develop and execute strategies that support revenue growth, profitability and customer retention.
- Lead, coach and develop managers, supervisors and employees across the organization.
- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability and operational objectives.
- Oversee production scheduling, capacity, workflow, quality and on-time delivery.
- Work closely with Sales and Customer Service to strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
- Monitor key financial and operational metrics, including revenue, margins, labour, waste, productivity and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
- Ensure equipment, labour and production resources are being utilized effectively.
- Support capital equipment planning and investment decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and business partners.
- Ensure quality, safety and operational standards are consistently maintained.
- Address production and customer issues quickly and effectively.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
- Foster a culture built around teamwork, accountability, communication and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with ownership/senior leadership on business planning and long-term strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience within print manufacturing, with significant experience managing operations.
- Strong knowledge of commercial printing and print manufacturing processes.
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager within the print industry.
- Demonstrated ability to lead people, departments and cross-functional teams.
- Strong business and financial acumen with an understanding of manufacturing profitability.
- Experience with production planning, scheduling, estimating, costing and workflow management.
- A track record of improving operational performance and driving accountability.
- Strong customer-facing and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven manufacturing environment.
- A practical, hands-on leadership style with the ability to roll up your sleeves and get involved.
- Strong computer and ERP/MIS systems experience.
