Position Summary
As a Technician, Facility Services, HVAC/R, you will help keep the facilities operating safely and reliably by installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. You will diagnose technical issues, complete preventive maintenance, support refrigeration compliance, and provide responsive service across an assigned region.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an experienced HVAC/R professional who enjoys solving problems, working independently, supporting customers, and sharing technical knowledge with others.
What You’ll Do
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including rack systems, walk-in and reach-in units, ductwork, control panels, building pneumatics, and Energy Management Systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, controls, and refrigerant-related issues and complete repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
- Configure and calibrate low-ambient systems and direct digital controls to meet operational requirements.
- Complete preventive maintenance and routine system inspections to improve reliability and extend equipment life.
- Interpret layouts, technical drawings, and schematics to support accurate system installation and repair.
- Recover, manage, document, and track refrigerants in accordance with applicable environmental requirements.
- Complete inspections and repairs in alignment with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal HVAC/R regulations and building codes.
- Support less-experienced Technicians and Apprentices by sharing technical knowledge and reinforcing safe work practices.
- Communicate technical issues, recommended actions, and service outcomes clearly to customers and business partners.
- Coordinate service calls, work orders, parts, inventory, warranties, expenses, and vendor support using digital scheduling and work-management tools.
- Travel to multiple facilities and service locations within an assigned region using a company vehicle.
- Safely operate and help maintain company vehicles, equipment, and required documentation.
- Collaborate with managers, training technicians, coworkers, customers, and external service providers to complete work safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
What You’ll Bring
Required qualifications
- College diploma or completion of a two-year vocational or technical trade program.
- Three to five years of relevant HVAC/R work experience.
- HVAC/R trade certification.
- Valid 313A or G1 certification, as applicable to the work being performed.
- Valid Ozone Depletion Prevention or ODS certification.
- Valid driver’s licence and an acceptable driving record.
- Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Ability to read technical drawings, layouts, and schematics.
- Ability to use specialized tools, equipment, digital systems, and heavy machinery safely.
- Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety, refrigerant-handling, environmental, and HVAC/R requirements.

Working Conditions
This role supports multiple facilities and may require travel to distant service locations within an assigned region. The work involves commercial HVAC/R equipment, specialized tools, heavy machinery, company vehicles, and occasional situations that may create additional time or service pressure.
