Job Title: EFTR Regulatory Reporting Operations Specialist
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 months contract (with possibility of extension/conversion)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced EFTR Regulatory Reporting Operations Specialist to support regulatory reporting operations through independent review and remediation of EFTR data discrepancies and data incompleteness alerts. The successful candidate will analyze source documentation, validate reporting data, remediate records, and resolve data quality issues while working within defined SLAs and regulatory requirements.
The role requires strong attention to detail, risk awareness, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently on moderate-to-high complexity operational tasks within a corporate or financial services environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform independent reviews of EFTR data discrepancy and data incompleteness alerts triggered by regulatory and risk-based system rules.
- Analyze source documentation, including systems of record, transaction systems, and physical or electronic records, to determine accurate reporting outcomes.
- Remediate EFTR records by accurately updating required data fields within reporting systems.
- Apply appropriate judgment and regulatory understanding when determining required data updates and reporting outcomes.
- Validate data accuracy through reconciliation, verification, and exception handling.
- Identify and correct data quality issues within defined SLAs.
- Escalate data quality issues when required and maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails.
- Draft and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) with internal partners to obtain missing, incomplete, or conflicting data.
- Follow up with internal partners to ensure timely resolution of outstanding information requirements.
- Respond to partner inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Support end-to-end EFTR remediation outcomes while maintaining accuracy, regulatory awareness, and appropriate documentation.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 1.5+ years of progressive experience in FINTRAC EFTR regulatory reporting.
- Previous experience within a corporate or financial services environment.
- Hands-on experience reviewing and remediating EFTR data discrepancies and data incompleteness.
- Experience analyzing source documentation and transaction/system records to determine accurate reporting outcomes.
- Experience with reconciliation, verification, exception handling, and data quality remediation.
