Job Title: Estate Processing Officer
Location: Montreal, QC (Hybrid)
Duration: 12 months contract (with possibility of extension/conversion)
Summary of the Role
The successful candidate will support banking operations related to customers who have passed away (estate accounts). The role will involve freezing and messaging customer accounts, ensuring requests are handled accurately and within established service-level agreements (SLAs), and providing administrative and operational support in a highly sensitive banking environment.
The ideal candidate will have a banking and financial services background, strong customer service and administrative skills, and the ability to communicate fluently in both English and French.
Typical Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Process requests related to customers who have passed away and their estate accounts.
- Freeze or place appropriate restrictions on customer accounts in accordance with established procedures.
- Send required messages or notifications related to deceased customer accounts.
- Review and process account information accurately and ensure all required steps are completed.
- Provide administrative support and maintain accurate records related to estate account activities.
- Communicate with internal teams and external parties as required to support account-related requests.
- Work with sensitive customer information while maintaining confidentiality and following established banking procedures.
- Meet established SLAs and processing timelines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Must-Have Skills
- Fully bilingual in English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 2–4 years of banking or financial services experience.
- Proficiency in MS 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong administrative skills with the ability to consistently meet SLAs and deadlines.
- Strong understanding of banking operations and account types.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Experience conducting KYC (Know Your Customer) checks.
- Experience handling estate/deceased customer accounts.
