Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, Global Delivery Lead – Data Retention to establish and lead a global enterprise Data Retention Management Program. This leader will build the program office from the ground up, define governance and delivery frameworks, and drive execution across multiple business units and geographies to address data retention, regulatory compliance, privacy, cybersecurity, and risk management objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end delivery of a large-scale global data retention and remediation program.
- Establish and manage the Program Management Office (PMO), governance structure, roadmap, reporting, and execution model.
- Drive collaboration across Technology, Data Governance, Cybersecurity, Risk, Privacy, Compliance, Legal, Audit, and business stakeholders.
- Manage multiple project managers, workstream leads, vendors, and delivery partners.
- Develop executive-level reporting, risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communication plans.
- Ensure successful execution of data inventory, classification, retention, disposition, and remediation initiatives.
- Influence senior leaders and business groups to drive accountability and achieve program objectives.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience leading large, complex enterprise transformation programs.
- Proven success managing cross-functional, global, or multi-business initiatives.
- Strong expertise in program governance, PMO leadership, executive reporting, resource planning, financial oversight, and risk management.
- Experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Retention, Information Management, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Regulatory Remediation, or Technology Risk.
- Demonstrated ability to build governance frameworks and delivery structures in ambiguous environments.
- Strong executive presence with experience influencing CIO, VP, SVP, and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Experience managing third-party consulting partners, system integrators, and vendors.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Financial Services, Insurance, Banking, Wealth Management, or other highly regulated industry experience.
- Exposure to OSFI, regulatory compliance, risk remediation, or control transformation programs.
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, records management, retention, classification, and disposition practices.
- Experience with organizational change management and business adoption strategies.
- Knowledge of Agile and traditional project delivery methodologies.
