Accounting Analyst III (CPA)
Location: North York, ON (Hybrid)
Work Model: Hybrid - On-site Monday, Tuesday & Thursday
Contract Duration: October 2026 - October 2027
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Core Business Hours
Pay Rate: Up to $50/hour + 4% vacation pay
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Advisor, Financial Reporting to support a large enterprise finance team in a complex and fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a CPA-designated accounting professional with strong financial reporting, accounting research, and analytical expertise.
You will play a key role in resolving accounting issues, supporting external financial reporting requirements, and providing technical accounting guidance across multiple business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting analysis and accounting research.
- Prepare reporting schedules supporting quarterly and annual financial filings.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues while ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Support contract reviews by assessing potential accounting implications.
- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities.
- Prepare and communicate accounting analyses and recommendations to management.
- Develop accounting memos and supporting documentation.
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency.
- Support ad hoc financial projects and special assignments.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, governance requirements, and SOX standards.
- Maintain working knowledge of US GAAP requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- CPA designation (required).
- Minimum 4 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Strong experience preparing and analyzing financial reports.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings to senior leadership.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, and Hyperion SmartView.
- Working knowledge of US GAAP.
- Experience in external financial reporting.
- Public accounting experience.
- Experience within energy, utilities, or highly regulated industries.
