About The Opportunity
LRO Staffing is partnering with a respected Ottawa organization to recruit a bilingual Talent Acquisition Specialist for a term position of approximately 22 months. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced in-house recruiter who enjoys partnering with hiring managers, developing creative sourcing strategies, and managing full-cycle recruitment across a diverse range of positions.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Managing full-cycle recruitment from sourcing and screening through interviewing, reference checks, and offer preparation
- Partnering with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruitment strategies
- Coaching hiring managers throughout the recruitment and selection process
- Sourcing and engaging active and passive candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, social media, professional networks, and other channels
- Developing creative sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill positions
- Developing screening criteria, interview guides, skills assessments, and other candidate evaluation tools
- Conducting candidate screening interviews and coordinating and participating in interviews with hiring managers
- Ensuring a fair, consistent, inclusive, and positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process
- Conducting reference checks and preparing and extending employment offers
- Supporting salary assessments through consideration of market data, internal equity, and HR guidance
- Maintaining regular communication with HR Business Partners regarding search progress, candidate pools, and recruitment challenges
- Maintaining accurate and timely candidate information, interview notes, postings, and reports within the ATS
- Supporting employer branding initiatives, recruitment events, employee referral programs, and talent pipeline development
- Collaborating with Communications & Marketing and other People & Culture colleagues on recruitment initiatives and process improvements
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Psychology, or a related field
- 4+ years of progressive experience conducting full-cycle, end-to-end in-house recruitment within a corporate environment
- Advanced verbal and written proficiency in both English and French is required
- Strong experience developing recruitment and sourcing strategies, including passive candidate sourcing through LinkedIn Recruiter
- Experience recruiting across a variety of functions and levels, including professional, technical, leadership, or specialized positions
- Strong understanding of recruitment practices, employment legislation, and compliance requirements
- Experience working with ATS, recruitment software, and HRIS platforms; experience with Jobvite or Workday is an asset
- Experience managing difficult-to-fill searches and building strong candidate pipelines
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively with hiring managers and HR professionals
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to navigate difficult conversations and negotiate employment offers
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple searches and competing priorities
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently with minimal direction
- Strong judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Professional HR or recruitment designation/certification such as CHRP, CHRL, CPC, or RPR is an asset
- Experience working with executive search firms on senior-level recruitment is an asset
About the Job
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid; onsite presence in Ottawa approximately 1-2 days per week. Candidates may also choose to work primarily from the Ottawa office
- Duration: Approximately 22 months, until approximately mid-September 2028
- Salary: $85,500 to $114,400 annually
