About The Opportunity
LRO Staffing is partnering with an Ottawa-based organization to recruit a Bilingual Program Officer for a six-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced program or project professional with a background in international development, international affairs, or the Canadian post-secondary sector to contribute to a significant international development initiative.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Supporting the planning, implementation, and coordination of complex program and project activities
- Serving as a key point of contact for program inquiries and providing ongoing support to stakeholders
- Supporting the planning and delivery of meetings, events, forums, and other program initiatives
- Supporting communications activities and the development of program-related content and materials
- Ensuring program activities and communications align with established policies, guidelines, and requirements
- Drafting, revising, and translating a variety of program documents, reports, and materials
- Contributing to analytical, narrative, and financial reporting
- Conducting research, surveys, data analysis, and preparing reports, guidelines, and implementation plans
- Supporting budget administration, financial tracking, and related program activities
- Providing administrative and technical support to ensure the effective delivery of program activities
- Supporting governance, committee, and stakeholder activities, including meeting preparation and coordination
- Providing guidance and support to program partners and stakeholders
- Assisting with the coordination of program-related events, activities, and initiatives
- Collaborating with internal teams and a range of external partners and stakeholders
About You
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Undergraduate degree in international relations, international development, management, humanities, social sciences, or a related field; a combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered
- 3-4 years of relevant program, project, or international development experience
- Experience planning, implementing, and administering donor-funded programs or projects; experience with government-funded international development programs is an asset
- Experience preparing implementation or work plans, narrative and financial reports, and budget projections
- Knowledge of international development, international affairs, and global issues
- Knowledge of results-based program management (RBM) and partner or country-led approaches is an asset
- Fluency in both French and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with excellent attention to detail
- Strong research, analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, complex activities, and firm deadlines
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-organizational team
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment is an asset
About the Job
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid; two days per week in the Ottawa office, including a required Thursday onsite
- Location: Ottawa, Ontario
- Duration: Six-month contract, with an immediate start
- Hourly Rate: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
- Hours: 35 hours per week; flexible schedule within regular business hours
