Introduction:
Robertson is seeking a skilled Platform Engineer to join our client in support of an existing vacancy.
Contract Period: 12 months with potential to extend or convert
Pay Rate: Starting form $96 per hour
Location: Toronto, ON
Location Type: Onsite
Business Hours: Monday-Friday, Core business hours
Job Responsibilities:- Support platform engineering and software delivery modernization initiatives
- Design and implement CI/CD, automation, and DevOps best practices
- Evaluate and implement AI-enabled engineering tools and workflows that improve developer productivity
- Collaborate with architects, engineering teams, and platform teams to improve software delivery processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline engineering workflows through automation and standardized practices
- Contribute technical expertise and hands-on execution for priority modernization initiatives
Experience & Qualification Requirements:- College or University - computer science or related degree required
- 8+ years of strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, release automation, and software delivery modernization required
- Experience implementing modern engineering practices in large enterprise environments
- Experience evaluating and adopting AI-assisted software development and engineering productivity tools
- Understanding of practical AI use cases across the software development lifecycle
- Strong experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, source control management, and developer workflows
- Experience with GitHub Copilot adoption and engineering enablement is an asset
- Experience with internal developer platforms, self-service engineering tools, and developer experience initiatives
- Experience with cloud-native platforms and modernization initiatives
- Experience working within large, regulated enterprises or financial services organizations
