Job Title: Senior Project Management Specialist
Location: Ottawa, ON (Hybrid – 12 days onsite per month)
Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Project Management Specialist to support a major public sector transformation initiative. This is a long-term contract opportunity running through December 31, 2027, with an additional 12-month option period available. Based on the client's requirements, the successful consultant must be located in Ottawa and available to work in a hybrid environment. ,
Security Clearance
Candidates must be eligible to obtain Government of Canada Reliability Status (this requires at least 5 years in Canada).
Project Background
This initiative supports a complex, multi-stream transformation program spanning policy, operations, business processes, and technology. The selected consultant will provide project management leadership, coordinate integrated workstreams, support technology implementation activities, and work closely with stakeholders across the organization to drive successful project outcomes.
Work Location & Conditions
- Hybrid work environment
- Minimum 12 days onsite per month in Ottawa
- Full-time engagement (37.5 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities
- Provide project management expertise for complex business and technology initiatives
- Develop, maintain, and manage integrated project plans, schedules, dependencies, and delivery roadmaps
- Coordinate project activities across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Support planning, implementation, and transition-to-operations activities
- Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies, and interdependencies
- Prepare status reports, briefings, presentations, and executive-level documentation
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder discussions
- Drive consensus-building and issue resolution among diverse stakeholder groups
- Support project governance, reporting, and decision-making processes
- Maintain effective relationships with business and technical stakeholders throughout project delivery
Mandatory Requirements
Education & Certifications
- University degree or college diploma in Information Technology, Project Management, Business Analysis, or a related discipline
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
Experience Requirements
Must demonstrate:
- Minimum 10 years of experience contributing to large, complex, multi-year projects involving more than 40 project team members and managing multiple concurrent initiatives across policy, business process, operational, and technology domains
- Minimum 4 years of recent project management experience supporting complex business and technology initiatives
- Minimum 5 years of experience delivering strategic projects using Agile or Hybrid (Agile/Waterfall) methodologies
- Experience identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating project risks, issues, dependencies, and interdependencies
- Experience producing professional documentation for senior leadership and technical audiences
- Experience facilitating workshops, meetings, and discussions to achieve consensus and advance project objectives
- Experience developing, maintaining, and managing integrated project plans, schedules, dependencies, and roadmaps across multiple workstreams
Technical Requirements
Must demonstrate knowledge of:
- Microsoft Azure cloud-based solutions and services
- Azure technology implementation projects through direct participation or project support activities
