- Shift / Schedule: 37.5 hours/week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Job SummaryThe main function of a Business Analyst is to perform the analysis, design, implementation, modification, and daily functional support of all applications. This is a long-term contract opportunity within the Procurement Transformation Program (TPM 360). The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise program teams and gain visibility and exposure to a variety of initiatives across the organization while supporting multiple projects. There is strong potential for ongoing opportunities, as there is a consistent need for Business Analysts, and the team would look to retain the individual long term if they perform well. On a daily basis, the candidate will work with the program lead, program PMs, and stakeholder groups including the procurement team and main stakeholder group. The team size is 10–15 people.
Key Responsibilities- Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
- Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
- Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation
- Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
- Supports one or more highly complex business processes
- Works on multiple projects as a project team member
- Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
Required Skills- Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience leading stakeholder discussions and facilitating working sessions with cross-functional stakeholders to elicit user stories
- Strong documentation skills
- Experience with Confluence and Jira
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Experience documenting user stories and participating in Agile ceremonies
- Experience supporting QA and UAT
- Banking or insurance industry experience
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to manage difficult stakeholders
- Ability to create business solutions that increase competitive advantage
- Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often times simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines
- Ability to solve technical problems/processes and understand complex details
- Ability to increase operating efficiency with produce high quality technical solutions
- A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level
- Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong storyteller, able to effectively connect insights from working sessions to senior leadership audiences
- Skilled at navigating difficult conversations, managing challenging situations, and minimizing conflict while maintaining positive relationships
Preferred Skills- Experience with third-party management lifecycle, including sourcing, contracting, finance, and supplier management, procurement system implementations
- Advanced degree (MBA or similar)
- CIBC experience
Education Requirements- Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
- MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
