The Opportunity:
We are looking for individuals to join our team in the Prince Albert office to fill term positions as a Child Protection Assistant Supervisor. In this role, you will supervise, manage, and implement programs designed to provide protective, preventative, and support services to children, parents, and foster families utilizing the Family Centered Case Management Model and P.R.I.D.E. Model of Practice.
Assistant Supervisors in CFP:
- Coach, mentor, and train staff as the expert and role model on your team.
- Demonstrate leadership exemplified by respect and empowerment, in order to encourage employees to achieve success.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to staff in the absence of the supervisor, concerning placements of children and supporting caregivers with children in care.
- Assist with service delivery between Child and Family division programs, work units, and partner agencies.
- Be knowledgeable about Ministry policies and procedures, as outlined in the Child and Family Services Act, Family/Children’s Services, and PRIDE Manuals.
- Act as a liaison with First Nations CFS and community agencies, with service delivery and decisions.
- You may represent your unit, Ministry, or region on community or internal committees.
Responsibilities
- Deliver programming and support services to individuals and groups based on identified needs.
- Conduct assessments to determine client needs, risks, and appropriate interventions.
- Develop and present insights on key issues and initiatives tailored to the target audience.
- Achieve program objectives while ensuring client needs are met effectively.
- Analyze and evaluate data to inform decisions and recommend improvements to practices and programs.
- Create and deliver presentations or facilitate meetings to enhance understanding of issues and initiatives.
- Complete all required documentation and reporting in a timely and accurate manner.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:
To qualify for this position, you will possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an accredited university, as approved by the SASW/CASW or CASWE. The successful candidate will have several years of experience in Child Protection/Children's Services - within Child and Family Programs AND supervising professional staff. The successful candidate will be required to travel, work flexible hours in the evening and on weekends, and transport children (and parents) in service delivery. You must be able to lift and carry up to 20 kg.
