The Opportunity:
The SMS will provide enhanced law enforcement presence across Saskatchewan, supporting and assisting the RCMP, First Nations Police, municipal police services and the Provincial Protective Services. The SMS will also conduct investigations and execute warrants, as well as provide specialized emergency service to law enforcement.

Responsibilities
- Enforces federal and provincial laws, court orders, and warrants.
- Conducts investigations into criminal acts and offenses.
- Locates and apprehends high-risk and prolific offenders and individuals on warrants.
- Applies appropriate use of force when necessary, including firearms for life protection.
- Monitors, tracks and identifies individuals in serious or recurring criminal activity.
- Collaborates with agencies on national security, nuclear security, immigration, agricultural security, and search and rescue.
- Gathers, analyzes, and maintains criminal intelligence data and statistics.
- Obtains judicial authorizations such as search warrants and production orders; conduct searches and arrests.
- Documents and secures evidence to ensure continuity and safekeeping.
- Operates emergency vehicles during law enforcement duties.
- Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing assistance to victims of accidents, crimes, and natural disasters.
- Detects, disrupts, and deters criminal activity across Saskatchewan, focusing on high-crime areas.

To qualify for this position, you will be required to show proof of the following, consistent with the Police Act 1990 and its regulations:
- Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Successfully completed a Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Successfully pass a job-related written (SIGMA) and physical test (POPAT) (elapsed time of 4 minutes and 45 seconds) administered by the Saskatchewan Marshals Service.
- Enhanced security screening process and obtain and maintain security clearance as a condition of employment.
- Be subject to an enhanced background check.
- Possess a valid motor vehicle operator license and provide a driver’s abstract obtained within the previous three months which demonstrates a safe and responsible driving record.
- Standard First-Aid Certificate and a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Basic Life Support, Level ‘C’ Certificate within the previous two years.
- Uncorrected visual acuity of 20/60 in both eyes or better, OR 20/40 in one eye and 20/100 in the other eye or better.
- Be required to pass a psychological personality assessment (MMPI) to determine suitability for law enforcement.
- Be certified by a qualified medical practitioner to be in good health, mentally and physically, and fit for duty as a member of a police service.
- Be required to pass a polygraph.
- Be of good moral character and habits.
