Shifts Available: Afternoon (2:00 PM – 10:10 PM) | Night (10:00 PM –
6:10 AM)
Compensation: Up to $40/hour
Shift Premiums: Afternoon – +$0.45/hour | Night – +$0.60/hour
About the Role
On behalf of our valued client, a leading manufacturer in the automotive industry, we’re seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker to join their team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring production efficiency through the maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement of dies and fixtures that meet exacting quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve
tool and die issues during production with minimal downtime.
- Perform engineering changes,
modifications, and repairs to existing tools, dies, and fixtures.
- Build new tooling and
fixtures from strip layout or customer drawings.
- Conduct try-outs and ensure
tools meet production schedules and customer requirements.
- Test dies in press
operations and produce samples according to customer drawings and
specifications.
- Perform TIG and MIG welding
as required; complete gripper adjustments and rebuild damaged components.
- Implement SPC procedures
aligned with customer and quality requirements.
- Complete all related
documentation, including preventative maintenance reports, time sheets,
and tool inventories within MVP.
- Support the design and
development of tooling methods to achieve quick die change objectives.
- Mentor and support
apprentices when required.
- Proactively communicate
potential issues or process improvements to management.
Qualifications
- Certified Tool and Die Maker
(Certificate of Qualification required).
- Minimum 5 years of
experience in tool and die making, preferably within an automotive
manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of
press department equipment, nitrogen, and pneumatics.
- Excellent troubleshooting
and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and
interpersonal skills with a proactive, self-starting attitude.
