We are looking for a Junior QA Automation Engineer to join a technology team in North York, Ontario. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career quality assurance professional who is passionate about software testing, automation, and delivering high-quality digital experiences. The successful candidate will contribute to both manual and automated testing efforts while collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA team members in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web, API, and mobile applications using modern testing frameworks and tools.
- Support all phases of the software testing lifecycle, including test planning, test case creation, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
- Perform manual, regression, smoke, and functional testing to ensure application quality and stability.
- Collaborate with developers, project managers, product managers, and QA team members to identify and resolve issues early in the development process.
- Document test cases, test results, defects, and lessons learned to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Assist with API and mobile application testing initiatives where required.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in QA processes, automation frameworks, and testing best practices.
- Analyze test results and provide clear feedback to stakeholders regarding product quality and release readiness.
Requirements
- 1+ years of QA or software testing experience, including professional, internship, or significant project-based experience.
- Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, WebDriverIO, or similar frameworks.
- Experience or working knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, or Java for test automation purposes.
- Understanding of software testing principles, testing methodologies, and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience creating and executing test cases for web, API, and/or mobile applications.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is considered an asset.
