About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Regulatory Compliance Analyst to join their team on a long-term contract basis. This role will support the organization's regulatory compliance program by helping ensure compliance with applicable federal and provincial regulations governing the financial services and insurance industries.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, risk, legal, and audit teams to monitor regulatory requirements, support compliance reviews and testing, manage regulatory filings, and assist with regulatory change initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing administration and maintenance of the organization's regulatory compliance program.
- Monitor and assess regulatory requirements and help ensure business practices remain compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct compliance reviews, monitoring, and testing activities to identify regulatory risks and control gaps.
- Assist with regulatory filings, licensing requirements, compliance reporting, and regulatory inquiries.
- Support compliance risk assessments, annual attestations, and regulatory readiness initiatives.
- Investigate and respond to compliance-related inquiries, incidents, and escalations.
- Develop compliance communications, training materials, and awareness initiatives for business stakeholders.
- Maintain compliance documentation, records, dashboards, and reporting tools.
- Partner with business leaders, legal, risk, and audit teams to support ongoing compliance and governance initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in regulatory compliance, compliance monitoring, risk management, governance, audit, or a related function.
- Experience within the insurance, banking, financial services, wealth management, lending, or other regulated financial environment is required.
- Exposure to and understanding of Canadian federal and provincial regulatory frameworks affecting financial services organizations.
- Knowledge of regulatory bodies and requirements such as:
- OSFI (Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions)
- FSRA (Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario)
- AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers - Québec)
- FCAC (Financial Consumer Agency of Canada)
- OBSI (Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments)
- BCFSA (BC Financial Services Authority)
- Alberta Insurance Council (AIC)
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance programs, regulatory reviews, compliance testing, regulatory reporting, or policy implementation.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and work with business teams to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred
- Experience within the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance, Life Insurance, Banking, or Financial Services sectors.
- Exposure to regulatory change management or regulatory readiness initiatives.
- CIP, CRM, or other relevant compliance, insurance, or risk management designation is considered an asset.
- Experience working directly with regulatory examinations, audits, or compliance assessments.
